Neuropsychological and Psychological Testing

What we do:

At Cognivia Assessment & Therapy we provide neuropsychological and psychological testing across the lifespan (ages 2.5 and up) for individuals with various conditions including: neurological and medical disorders, neurodevelopment and degenerative conditions, and mood disorders and others.

Who are neuropsychologists?

A neuropsychologist is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in understanding the complex relationship between how the brain and associated neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions affect thinking, planning, attention, processing information, memory, emotions, and behavior. They assess and understand the impact of neurological conditions, injuries, developmental differences, and mental and medical health challenges on everyday functioning. By using various tests and observation, neuropsychologists identify cognitive patterns, guide treatment and educational planning, and provide strategies to help patients of all ages improve daily life, learning, work, and overall well-being.

Neuropsychological vs. Psychological Testing

Neuropsychological testing focuses on cognitive functioning and understanding brain and behavioral functioning.

Psychological testing evaluates emotional, behavioral, and mental health functioning and is frequently an important component of a neuropsychological examination.
